The first Friday in the month of every December in Ghana is set aside to celebrate Farmers across the length and breadth of the country for their unflinching support towards the economy.
This year’s celebration will be earmarked with a five-day fair dubbed ‘Agrifest Ghana 2023’. The fair is to commence from Monday, November 27, 2023, to Friday, December 1, 2023.
In view of the five-day fair, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture has announced roadblocks to make the observance of the fair easy and convenient.
In a press statement signed by the Chairman of this year’s National Farmers Day and a Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, Yaw Frimpong Addo has outlined designated areas that will be affected by the Roadblock during the five-day Agrifest Ghana 2023.
The Fair will be experienced within the Ministerial enclaves starting from the Ridge Roundabout through the Principal Streets of the Parliament House, Independence Square, The John Evans Atta Mills Court Complex to the Principal Streets of the National Theatre. The Roadblock according to the statement will start from the Starlet 91 road to the National Theatre traffic light.
Official passes will however be granted to Vehicles of Ministers, Heads of Civil Service, Auditor General, Controller and Accountant General, Deputy Ministers, Chief Directors and Directors to have easy access through the blocked road to their respective offices.
Staff and Clients of affected government institutions are therefore requested to park their vehicles either at Independence Square or the Efua Sutherland Park with the Ghana Police Personnel deployed to provide adequate security and safety for the vehicles parked in these designated areas.
