File all witness statements & disclosures in Collins Dauda Saglemi Housing case – Court directs

The Criminal Division of the Accra High Court has directed the State to file all witness statements and disclosures in the case involving former Minister of Works and Housing Alhaji Collins Dauda and four others.

The Court presided over by Justice El-Freda Dankyi, said, prosecution led by Chief State Attorney, Evelyn Keelson requested for six weeks to file their witness statements and disclosures.

The Chief State Attorney said, even though the practice required the court to give 30 days after the case is assigned to a new court, they will need six weeks.

Defence lawyers however did not oppose the request.

The Court after listening to the parties adjourned the case to the 22nd of December, 2021 for Case Management Conference.

Member of Parliament for Juaboso, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, updated journalists after the court proceedings.

The accused persons have been charged for causing financial loss to the state and have pleaded not guilty to all 52 charges.

The two former Ministers of Works and Housing Alhaji Collins Dauda, Kweku Agyeman Mensah and three others are facing charges of Intentionally misapplying public property, causing financial loss to the state and issuing of false certificates in the Saglemi Affordable Housing Project.
