Fire guts Odawna market in Accra

There has been a fire outbreak at the Odawna market in Accra.

Information indicate that the fire gutted the market around 1am with one container which extended to the rest of the market.

The cause of the fire has not been established as now but some of the traders attributed it to the illegal connection and the unsafe gas cylinders at the market.

No casualties have been reported so far. The Ghana fire service are present to quench the fire.

The police service and some military men are also present to ensure security as well.

Some say the fire could have been dealt with as early as possible but a supposed security man prevented them from entering.

Another Information indicate that the fire service which got there earlier did not have enough water for the operation could be one factor that lead to the extension to the rest of the market.

Some victims and people who witnessed the incidents shared their views to Radio Ghana.

Some traders called government to come on their aid to as they have lost a lot of valuables.
