The First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo says lack of planning is the cause of the delay for Ghana’s Premier Hospital Korle Bu to build a state of the art Pediatric and Neo Natal complex since its establishment.

She said the frustration mothers of sick children go through to seek intensive health care does not speak well of the country.

It is against this backdrop that the First Lady’s foundation sought support to put up the Pediatric and Neo Natal Complex at Korle Bu.

Inaugurating the facility in Accra, Mrs. Akufo-Addo said Pediatric Nurses should not be entirely blamed for poor performance because the basic logistics they require to work with are not readily available.

Minister for Health, Kwaku Agyemang Manu said the state of child health units across the country is an indication that child health has not been properly planned over the years and lack of incubators for instance is evidence.
