A Forensic result sampled from the purported poisoned tilapia from a Chinese farm in Asutuare shows no sign of poison.

Again, tests conducted also did not show any sign of tilapia lake Virus.

This was revealed by the Head of Fish House Unit at the Fisheries Commission, Dr. Peter Ziddah in an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana.

Last month, more than six tonnes of Tilapia at a fish farm in Asutsuare died in what was suspected to be mass poisoning.

NADMO then led an exercise to dispose of the fishes to prevent them from entering the market.

Samples of the Tilapia were sent to the UK for testing.

Dr. Ziddah allayed fears of the public, saying the test results showed no sign of poisoning and all kinds of Tilapia are safe for consumption.

He said the Chinese Farm at Asutuare is still under surveillance.
