Former President of the Methodist Church, Rev. Samuel Asante-Antwi has passed on.
He is reported to have kicked the bucket at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital last night.
Rev. Asante Antwi was a member of the Council of Elders of the NPP.
He became President of the Methodist church in August 1997.
He was Chairperson of the Disciplinary Committee of the NPP that suspended then Party Chairman Paul Afoko.
Meanwhile, Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed shock at the demise of Most. Rev. Dr. Asante Antwi.
In a Facebook post, the Vice President noted that the Former Presiding Bishop played an integral role in the transition from military regime to democratic dispensation.
He described him as a fearless person who was not cowed by arbitrary use of power.
