Social Media Influencer, Kalyjay says Galamsey is scary because as a message, it has been preached for a very long time and yet, nothing seems to have changed.
He mentioned that when he first joined twitter about 4 – 5 years ago, he met the Atewa forest Galamsey must stop hashtag. A movement he took part in because of the awareness raised against Galamsey at the time.
However, years later, the company was still running and nothing had been done to stop the activities that were destroying the forests from that time till now.
”It is all rather unfortunate and sad”, the Social Media Influencer asserts.
”The aerial shots of the streams and areas that have been damaged by the Galamsey are just terrible”.
He says everything is just crazy and there is really a long way to go. Everybody will be affected and suffer from this one way or the other.
”Persons ranging from fishermen to farmers to all sorts of workers” will all be affected he added.
As someone who started a fix the country hashtag sometime ago on social media because of how bad he observed things to be, he understands the plight and suffering of the Ghanaian people, however, the Social Media Influencer, noted that action needs to be taken if things are going to get better.
Born Joshua Buernortey Boye-Doe and known popularly as KalyJay, the 25-year-old Ghanaian social media influencer and activist has raised awareness on various issues in the Ghanaian community through his platform.
