The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC, has for the first time held its annual nine lessons and carol service in collaboration with the Ghana Armed Forces. It was held at Garrison Methodist Presbyterian Church, Burma Camp.
Staff of GBC and the Military personnel took patrons through lessons and beautiful carols.
The ambiance and discipline that characterized this year’s carols service was different as staff of the GBC and Ghana Armed Forces collaborated in Christmas renditions.
The nine lessons, interspersed with Carols, were read by representatives from various Units from GBC and the Military.
The Chief of the Defense Staff, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama in a sermon commended the collaboration between the Ghana Armed Forces and the GBC.
He noted that it must be nurtured and sustained to enhance relations between military, civilian relations.
He also made a strong case for the sustenance of peace , stressing that it is a prerequisite to champion development.
In a sermon the Director of Religious Affairs at the Ghana Armed Forces, Captain Paul Adjei Djan admonished Christians to keep faith in the savior, as the birth of the Savior is celebrated.
”In this era of the Covid-19 Christians, we need to show each other love and preach peace as God is the only one that can deliver the country and the world from the pandemic”, he noted.
In his welcome address the Director General of GBC, Professor Amin Alhassan indicated that despite the ravages of Covid-19 on every facet of development, it is incumbent on all to give thanks to God as the year draws to a close.
”Celebrate the season in peace and extend goodwill to all”, he noted.
The ceremony was graced with the presence of the GBC Evergreen Choir, the GMPC Choir, the Air Force Band and the Micheal Camp Choir.
The Ninth Reading concluded with a great declaration and prayers for Ghana.
