The Board Chairman of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Prof. Stephen Adei says the state broadcaster, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), must draw innovative and aggressive strategies to raise funds to run the Corporation.
He said the current mode of collecting the T.V license is ineffective and must be done in a more convenient manner such as infusing it into the electricity bill issued to the public.
Prof. Adei said this when officials of the GRA paid a courtesy call on the Director-General of GBC, Prof. Amin Alhassan.
Prof. Adei acknowledged the importance of GBC in informing and educating the public, adding that this can only be stepped up if the public broadcaster is well resourced.
Prof. Adei also urged GBC and the media fraternity to fully support GRA in educating the public on the essence and benefits of paying taxes.
The Director-General of GBC, Prof. Amin Alhassan assured GRA that GBC will soon promote programmes for children and infuse tax education into them among other supporting roles.
