Management and Staff of GBC’s Radio Upper West have organised a cleanup exercise at the organisation’s premises located at Wa. The short exercise was to help keep the environment clean and afford staff the opportunity to interact while keeping fit.
Speaking to the News Team after the exercise, the Ag. Upper West Regional Director of GBC, Lawrence Tetteh said the exercise forms part of the Corporation’s mini-activities in the run up to the celebration of the Heritage Month in March.
The Heritage month is celebrated in month by individuals and organisations across the country in March. The celebration is to emphasise the need for wearing and promoting Ghanaian made clothes and artifacts, eating Ghanaian dishes, speaking Ghanaian languages and promoting the entire Ghanaian culture and Heritage Sites.
It will be recalled that the GBC launched the “Heritage Month” last year to sensitise the public especially the staff of the Corporation in upholding the Ghanaian culture and values.
The Ag. Regional Director, Mr Tetteh commended the staff for their smart turnout for the exercise and asked that same interest be shown in other activities to be organised by the corporation.
He also encouraged residents in the Upper West Region to emulate the initiative of the Corporation and go out in their numbers to clean their environments at least once a month. Mr Tetteh said this would promote good sanitation in the region and prevent the spread of certain diseases.
