The Managing Director of the Cocoa Processing Company and Chief of Amoaman in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of Ashanti, Nana Agyenim Boateng, has been awarded an Honorary doctorate degree.
The International Honorary Fellowship Award, was conferred by the George Fox University – Newberg in the US and Rectitude International Mission through its Associate, the Bureau of Research on Governance, Commerce, and Administration.
The Honorary Doctorate was conferred on Nana Agyenim Boateng, for providing exceptional service to the country and alleviating extreme hardship, through demonstrating quality leadership and understanding for matters relating to society’s development and welfare.
The ceremony which attracted diplomats, government officials and traditional leaders acknowledged the outstanding leadership skills, integrity and dedication to work of Nana Agyenim Boateng.
He has contributed immensely to the growth and development and well-being of society. Nana Agyenim Boateng also contributed to the transformation of the Cocoa Processing Company, when he was the Deputy Managing Director.
During that period, the company became Number One in the Ghana Club 100 in 2010 and 2011 and placed second in 2012.
Chancellor of World Diplomatic Federation, Dr. Christian Kwetey Kweitsu said Nana Agyenim Boateng has demonstrated quality leadership and understanding for matters relating to society’s development and therefore deserves to be honoured for others to emulate.
The Chief of Gomoa Dasum and Amankoraahen of Gomoa Akyeampim Traditional Area, Nana Obokumatta, who is also the Principal Commissioner at World Diplomatic Federation said African leaders need to motivate people to excel in their fields of endeavor.
Nana Agyenim Boateng expressed gratitude for the honour and entreated Ghanaians especially the youth to ensure they give off their best wherever they find themselves.
The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Professor, Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante, said the Presbyterian University College of Ghana, PUCG, is on course to becoming autonomous, and will receive the Presidential Charter to award its own certificates soon.
He said this at the 15th Congregation of the University at Kwahu-Abetifi in the Eastern Region.
President of the Presbyterian University College of Ghana, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow-Obeng, appealed to the government to support Private Universities to enable them to expand to offer opportunities to more students.
He debunked the assertion that Private Universities are profit oriented organizations, and do not need government’s financial aid.
The overall Best Graduating Student, Grace Asantewaa Koranteng, encouraged her colleagues to be innovators who will contribute to finding practical solutions to the unemployment problem.

586 students graduated. Of the number, eighty-three (83) made up of 43 males and 40 females obtained First Class Honours.
