GES asked to revive Guidance and Counselling Units to address challenges girls face in schools

GES declares Friday, 7th March holiday for all schoolchildren

43.5% of girls have been abused, 51.9% have experienced sexual abuse and 35% have gone through physical assault.

These are findings of a research conducted by Girls’ Excellence Movement, GEM.

At the launch of the report in Accra, the Executive Director of Institute for Education Studies, IFEST, Dr. Peter Partey Anti asked the Ghana Education Service (GES) to revive the Guidance and Counselling Units in Schools.
