Ghana is among 14 Countries selected to form a High-Level Panel of Global Leaders tasked to find solutions to a sustainable ocean economy.
The 14 countries are coastal-based economies with 30 percent of the world’s Exclusive Economic Zones.
The challenges include climate change, unreported, unregulated and illegal fishing as well as piracy activities.
The roadmap for the panel’s activities are outlined in a report dubbed ‘Transformations for the Sustainable Ocean Economy’ which was launched today in Accra.
