Ghana card registration in northern regions extended to October 30

The National Identification Authority (NIA), has extended the deadline for the registration for the Ghana Card to October 30. The ongoing registration was  in the Northern, North east and Savannah regions were scheduled to end tomorrow, October 23, 2019.

However, the registration faced challenges including poor network and the late arrival of equipment at the beginning of the exercise which left many people frustrated. Over the last two weeks, residents have appealed to the NIA to consider extending the deadline.

A statement issued by the authority last night, says, registration will continue at all registration centers in the three regions. The statement entreated all citizens to take advantage and register.

The statement further said NIA will set up offices in all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies after March 2020, to enable citizens who are unable to register in the ongoing exercise to do so.
