Ghana and the Czech Republic have pledged to deepen their bilateral relations, focusing on defense, security, scholarships, medical training, and transport, following high-level discussions held in Accra.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and the National Security Advisor of the Czech Republic, Ambassador Tomáš Pojar, convened on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation.

Ambassador Pojar emphasised the Czech Republic’s longstanding relationship with Ghana, spanning over six decades, and underscored the importance of strengthening these ties for mutual benefit. He reaffirmed his country’s commitment to deepening relations across various sectors.

Mr Ablakwa expressed government’s gratitude for the Czech Republic’s collaborative efforts in agriculture, education, water purification, and security. He highlighted the potential for increased economic cooperation and proposed the organisation of a business forum to facilitate interaction between business communities in both nations.

“We believe a business forum would provide a crucial platform for our respective business communities to explore and capitalise on each other’s comparative advantages,” the Minister stated.

The discussions concluded with both parties reaffirming their dedication to advancing bilateral relations, aiming to improve the welfare of their respective citizens.

The commitment to strengthening ties signals a new phase of cooperation between Ghana and the Czech Republic.
