Ghana joins the global community to commemorate World Rabies Day today.
The day is dedicated to education, awareness creation, and action that needs to be pursued for prevention of rabies which is a neglected tropical disease among citizens.
The day will be commemorated at Lawra in the Upper West Region.
Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr. William Adu Kuma asked District Assemblies to establish veterinary clinics while the Veterinary Service also provides the needed human resource, to curb the incidence of rabies.
He further, asked the Assemblies to sanction pet owners who do not vaccinate their animals.
