The Krontihene of Akyem Asoum, Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III, has expressed deep concerns about Ghana’s current state, accusing the government of poor management and corruption.
In an interview with GHOne TV, Nana Boadi said the country has been “stripped naked” by individuals he described as looters, leaving Ghana in a state of suffering and decline.
“Ghana has been stripped naked; mother Ghana is bleeding,” he said, comparing the nation’s struggles to the biblical story in Luke 10:29 of the Good Samaritan, calling for urgent rescue and restoration.
He expressed hope in former President John Mahama’s potential return to power, believing it could bring about positive change. “We thank God that the good Lord is about to give the mantle to President John Mahama,” he stated.
Nana Boadi criticised President Akufo-Addo’s administration for failing to use the country’s resources effectively. “He had so much revenue, so much he could have done for this country, but he failed,” he said.
The chief added that many traditional leaders share his concerns about the outgoing government’s legacy, expressing hope that future leaders will prioritise the nation’s welfare.
“We pray we don’t get another Akufo-Addo to be president of Ghana,” he concluded.
