Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority, Benonita Bismarck, has observed that Ghana needs a robust export sector to sustainably strengthen the national currency against the major trading counterparts.
According to her, the export sector will shore up the country’s foreign exchange reserves towards a resilient and stable Cedi for macro-economic improvement.
Madam Bismarck said developed economies have attained their high economic status by leveraging on their export capacity, adding that Ghana can only gain meaningfully from its exported resources if the actions of exporters are aligned with the national economic objectives.
The CEO of the Shippers Authority, made the observation in an address read on her behalf at the opening of a sensitization workshop in Kumasi for stakeholders in the Export-sub Sector.
