Ghana’s Child Labour Monitoring System is being reviewed to make it more robust, sustainable, user-friendly, and responsive to current realities.
In line with this, the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations in partnership with the Gender Ministry, is holding a stakeholder forum to review the System.
The Child Labour Monitoring System instituted in 2010, is a holistic and dynamic process for monitoring all forms of Child Labour with emphasis on worst forms.
The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, said the Child Labour Monitoring System, was piloted by government in 25 Communities in Six selected Districts under the National Programme for the Elimination of Child Labour in Cocoa.
The Final Report identified some challenges and made Recommendations for Review.
The Review he said will contribute to the high level of Efficiency and functionality and also ensure the full utilisation of the System by all stakeholders.
It will also identify Vulnerable Children, those at risk and those engaged in all forms of abuses and refer them to available Interventions and Services.
