The Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed confidence in the economy, stressing that the country will surmount the current challenges and bounce back stronger as government puts in place measures to change the fortunes of the economy.
He said the economy is beginning to show signs of recovery, adding that those who rely on God will renew their strength even in times of difficulty.
Speaking at the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Liberty Center Assemblies of God in Accra which focused on Declaring the Goodness of God, Vice President Bawumia said despite the challenges, God has gracious to the country.
He commended the Church for their efforts to establish a hospital to serve the community to complement the government’s initiatives.
It was a joyous occasion for the Liberty Center Assemblies of God church as they climaxed their Golden Jubilee celebration. Clad in their anniversary cloth, they sang praises and danced to the glory of God for His faithfulness through the years.
The Liberty Center Assemblies of God Church which started in 1972 as a gathering for morning devotion in the premises of the late Rosina Kweifio-Okai can now boast of a membership of over 2000.
In a welcome address, the Head Pastor of the Liberty Center Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Dr. Sam Ato Bentil said the toil and sacrifices of the church have yielded fruits as the church has grown over the past fifty years, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He said the vision to build a hospital in the community is on course to complement government’s agenda 111 initiative.
In a sermon, the Founder of the Dominion Christian Center, Zambia Bishop Andrew Mwenda said 50 years in one’s life is a time for reflection.
He admonished the church not to be members only but partners to spread the gospel.
Vice President Bawumia expressed gratitude to the Church for their immense contribution to the economic development.
He said things are beginning to turn around for good as government works to change the fortunes of the economy.
“Government recognizing the challenges will continue to work hard while trusting God for His guidance to advance the country.”
Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia was accompanied by the Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, former Minister of Railways and Development Minister, Joe Ghartey and the Director General of the NLA, Sammy Awuku among other dignitaries.
