Fifteen organisations from Ghana’s healthcare sector are embarking on a four-city roadshow in the United Kingdom from March 17-21, 2025, at the invitation of the UK‘s Department for Business and Trade.
This delegation comprises representatives from the Ghanaian government, private health facilities, pharmaceutical and medical equipment distributors, and pharmaceutical manufacturers. The primary objective of this visit is to fortify trade partnerships and unearth new development opportunities.
By doing so, it aims to bolster the existing healthcare collaboration between the UK and Ghana, which encompasses research and training, knowledge and expertise transfer, investment, and healthcare systems strengthening.

His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Africa, John Humphrey, leading the UK delegation, emphasized the UK’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Africa, with Ghana being a key partner. “As we work together, we aim to unlock growth, jobs, trade, investment, and opportunities in our economies,” he stated.
John Humphrey highlighted the significance of this delegation, noting it presents a prime opportunity for UK businesses to tap into Ghana’s burgeoning healthcare market while supporting Ghana’s development goals, including universal health coverage.

The UK-Ghana Healthcare Roadshow kicks off in London and will make its way to Birmingham, Leeds, and Cardiff. This tour brings together Ghanaian delegates and UK companies offering tailored solutions and expertise to meet Ghana’s healthcare needs. The initiative strengthens economic ties between the UK and African nations, addressing supply chain disruptions and unlocking growth opportunities.
British High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Harriet Thompson, emphasized the long-standing partnership between the two countries, enhancing healthcare services and supporting business opportunities. “This roadshow deepens our partnership, harnessing collective expertise, innovation, and dynamism. I’m confident it will foster productive connections, driving growth and prosperity,” she stated.
This visit offers UK businesses a chance to tap into Ghana’s burgeoning healthcare market, while providing Ghana with access to the UK’s expertise, products, and services in the sector.
The two are hopeful of a productive engagement, leading to increased trade and collaboration in healthcare.
