National Communication Team member of the New Patriotic Party and former Women Organizer hopeful, Ellen Ama Daaku has lashed out at Ghanaians, saying they are hypocritical in nature.
Ghanaians woke up to news and reports of a slain military man in Ashaiman which eventually led to a massive swoop within the towns and environs of the area by military men. The swoop which was an attempt to fish out possible suspects of the murder saw the arrest of over one hundred men. The swoop raised lots of eyebrows, concerns and discussions among various dimensions of the country by both political and security analysts and experts.
In a response to the calls for compensation by former President Mahama and former and current Member of Parliament for the Ashaiman constituency, the outspoken communicator for the NPP, Madam Daaku said Ghanaians are too hypocritical.
In her explanation, she said community leaders and opinion leaders in Ashaiman coupled with parents, are aware of the bad characters of the youth in the community but have kept quiet for a very long time but are now complaining and calling for compensation. She added that Ashaiman for a very long time hasn’t got a good reputation within the news and scopes of Ghana but the various community leaders have done nothing or little about that.
According to her, when it comes to issues concerning safety and security in Ghana, there are places tagged as flashpoints, Kasoa Budumburam and Ashaiman are not exempt from these flashpoints. She added that the inability of parents and leaders in our communities to curb bad traits among the youth is what has led to the death and swoop in Ashaiman.
