Ghana’s corruption fight recognised internationally

The Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) has launched an Awards scheme in Accra, to honour public officials and institutions with high level of integrity in their line of work.

The awards which will not be monetary in nature forms part of preparations by the GII to celebrate 20 years of sensitization and advocacy against corruption.

Executive Director of GII, Linda Ofori-Kwarfo, said the awards scheme is a strategic and sustainable response to the fight against corruption.

Meanwhile, the Danish Ambassador to Ghana, Tove Degnbol has singled out the Special Prosecutor, Martin Alamisi Benz Kaiser Amidu and Auditor General, Daniel Domelevo, as two individuals championing the fight against corruption.

She said these two individuals whose jobs are critical to the anti-corruption movement, are striving to achieve their goals, even in the face of numerous challenges.

The Danish Ambassador was speaking at the launch of the GII Awards in Accra.
