Ghanata Old Students Association (GOSA) has organised a press conference to launch homecoming this year. The press launch took place at the 37-Officers Mess in Accra on Saturday, August 12.
Speaking to the media, the President of the Association, Mr. Roosevelt Odai Otoo, a former Director of Feeder Roads, said the press launch is one of the activities that precede the homecoming. He said the annual general meeting, where the executive gives a report, follows.
He charged all GOSA members everywhere, either in Ghana or abroad, to get involved in the building of the Association, which will trickle down to the school.
He added that the association is making strides to help solve some of the challenges at the school. According to him, they are helping to put up infrastructure, books, uniforms, and many more. He encouraged participation in their upcoming activities.
For her part, the National Organiser, Edna Martey, expressed her elation to be part of this year’s Homecoming, which will take place from September 29 to October 1.
She enumerated the programme outline for the homecoming, which includes health screening, clean-up exercise, dinner dance, election, and many more.
She disclosed that the school is faced with many challenges, including a shortage of classrooms and dormitory blocks, poor health facilities, and many others.
She was quick to add that the association, especially some year groups, has adopted some of the projects and is making sure that they are being executed.
She called on all past students of Ghanata to get involved in their desire to bring development to the school.
