President of the Ghana Journalists Association, GJA, Roland Affail Monney, has urged President Akufo-Addo to respond to the Association’s petition in May last year asking for a stimulus package for Journalists.
Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr. Monney, said it is a miracle some media houses have survived so far without any support.
He said though the Presidency immediately responded with PPE and a training programme on COVID-19 for Journalists, it has since not yielded to the substance of the petition.
Mr Monney believes that now that government is settling, it will prioritize the stimulus package for journalists and media houses whose operations were virtually crippled by the impact of COVID-19.
Mr Monney expressed gratitude to the media houses for the resilience to serve the public in the midst of the challenges posed by covid 19.
