President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Albert Dwumfour has paid a working visit to the Italian Ambassador to Ghana, Daniella d’ Orlandi at the Embassy of Italy in Accra.
They both discussed issues of mutual benefit and underscored the need to accord Journalists the space to enable them to do their work without intimidation, with the goal of creating societies that serve the people well.
The GJA President provided a catalogue of the Association’s vision for Journalists and spoke especially about the need to build the capacity of journalists in order to ”combat fake journalism”. He said professionalism and specialization are key ingredients that would be encouraged during his tenure as President.
Ambassador d’Orlandi warmly welcomed Mr. Dwumfour and said the role of the Journalist is important to every society pointing out that she looked forward to ”partnerships with the GJA that would promote good relations between Ghana Media and the Embassy”.
The GJA President was accompanied on the visit by the Public Affairs Officer, Rebecca Ekpe, General Secretary Kofi Yeboah and Mr. Mawugbe, Editor of Senaradioonline.com.
