The Association believes that rural women can only take up better economic opportunities if they are healthy and literate.  Deputy  Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Francis Ato Cudjoe, noted that rural women’s empowerment is not just economic empowerment, but  a means to provide women the opportunities to access education.

The Food and Agriculture Organisation,( FAO) Deputy Regional Representative for Africa Jocelyn Brown Hall, noted that FAO has policies under the Sustainable Development Goals that are vital to safeguard rural women’s economic empowerment, particularly farmers.

The Executive Director of Rural Development Action Association, Mrs Lydia Sasu, noted that empowering women is key not only to the well-being of individuals, but also families and rural communities resulting in  overall economic productivity, given the large presence of women  in Agriculture.
