Government has began steps to reduce the price of PCR tests at the Kotoka International Airport to 50 dollars.
This comes on the back of an ECOWAS protocol that has asked member states to cap the price of COVID-19 tests at borders within the sub-region to 50 dollars.
Currently travelers are required to take PCR tests at the Kotoka International Airport at a cost of 150 dollars, an amount that has been criticized by many as being too expensive.
Contributing to a statement made on the floor of Parliament by North Tongu Member of Parliament (MP), Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa; Pusiga MP, Laadi Ayii Ayamba and Ayawaso West Wuogon MP, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, Health Minister-designate, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu disclosed that President Akufo-Addo has instructed that the price for PCR testing be reduced to meet the ECOWAS protocols agreed.
