Government has expressed satisfaction over a meeting with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Accra on the controversial Agyapa Royalties agreement with commitment to continue engaging all stakeholders regarding the transaction.
The meeting comes on the back of agitation by the Minority in Parliament demanding the withdrawal of the contract with Agyapa Mineral Royalties Limited saying the deal is shrouded in secrecy.
The 15 CSOs who attended the meeting raised concerns about what they described as the lack of transparency that has characterized the transaction.
Speaking at a media briefing in Accra, a Deputy Minister of information, Pius Enam Hadzide said government is always open to discussions for clarity on the matter.
