The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, has called for a review of the mandate and role of Regional Coordinating Councils to address the challenges hindering effective decentralization.
Welcoming the other fifteen Regional Ministers and Coordinating Directors to a two-day conferencein Accra, Mr Quartey said the increase in number of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, MDAs over the years has added to the operational responsibilities of RCCs yet their funding remains meagre and nothing good to write home about.
He said most of the RCC buildings and residencies are in deplorable state making them death traps.
