Haruna calls for immediate action to address Tamale water crisis

Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South, Mr. Haruna Iddrisu is demanding urgent action to address the acute water shortages which have hit the northern regional capital, Tamale, and its surroundings.

According to the Tamale South lawmaker, the dire water situation is threatening the life of thousands in the metropolis.

In a brief statement on the floor of Parliament on Tuesday 13, February 2014 to draw the attention of authorities mandated to oversee the provision of potable water supply to the good people of Tamale and its surroundings, the former Minority Leader explained that the challenge has put hospitals and schools, especially in Tamale, under significant stress.

He called for a resolution to bring some relief to the members of the community.

Commenting on the issue, MP for Bodi, Mr. Samson Ahi also urged the National Security and the Ministry for Sanitation and Water Resources to move in with water tankers to serve the community.
