The Tema Station and the Odawna Pedestrian Shopping Malls in Accra are to be re-engineered to create more space.
The re-engineering will comprise a two-tier lorry park on the ground and first floors and a three storey modern market stalls.
Municipal Chief Executive of Korley Klottey, Nii Adjei Tawiah who announced this in Accra said the re-engineering will accommodate all the hawkers found on the street.
He said the decongestion by the Assembly, has not been sustainable because after moving them from the streets, there is no market space to accommodate them.
Mr. Adjei Tawiah said the Assembly is currently vetting proposals from investors who have expressed interest in the projects.
