Players in the Poultry Industry are lamenting the high cost of poultry feed on the market which will translate into expensive chicken and eggs.
They said the high cost of maize and soya beans is as result of high demand for the produce from neighbouring countries and low production of the feed due to floods in the Northern part of the country.
The Greater Accra Regional President of the Ghana National Association of Poultry Farmers, Gifty Rodor said the cumulative effect of all these challenges will result in the upward adjustment of the prices of chicken and eggs.
Mrs. Rodor said checks at the Buffer stock indicate that there are shortages of maize and soya on the market so government should immediately support the poultry Industry.
