A three block Government’s ‘Affordable Housing Project’ in North-Kaneshie and Adenta Frafraha has been handed over to their new owners.
The housing units, developed by the State Housing Company, through its internally generated funds, contain one to four bedroom apartments that sell at 90 thousand cedis, 586 thousand cedis and 900 thousand cedis.
Minister for Works and Housing, Francis Asenso-Boakye who inaugurated the project, lauded management and staff of State Housing Company for working hard to transform the Company from one that was not profitable to being able to now generate money internally to fund the housing project.
Each apartment has a bedroom, well fitted kitchen and storeroom, ultramodern washroom, living room, and balcony.
The four-bedroom apartments, still under construction, commenced after government secured the land from squatters about four years ago.
The apartments are Mallow Court (Adenta), a 2-star project, Club Court Apartments (North Kaneshie), and Legacy Court (Adenta Frafraha).
The Minister disclosed that his Ministry was working towards the establishment of a “National Housing Authority” that would plan and manage housing development.
