The newly sworn-in Inspector General of Police (IGP), Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has pledged his full commitment to leading the Ghana Police Service (GPS) with professionalism, transparency, and discipline.

Speaking after a brief swearing-in ceremony at the Jubilee House in Accra, COP Yohuno emphasized his dedication to aligning with the government’s vision of reforming and modernizing the GPS.

“I approach this responsibility with the utmost seriousness, fully recognizing the weight of expectation that comes with this role.

In alignment with the transformation and modernization of the service, I pledge to uphold the values, traditions, and culture of the Ghana Police Service, consistent with your agenda, Your Excellency, the President. In this regard, our guiding principles will include discipline and respect for seniority within the service’s hierarchical structure,” he stated.

He also assured Ghanaians that his administration would prioritize fairness, accountability, and renewed commitment to duty, ensuring that the police service meets the nation’s security expectations.

“I assure you that professionalism, transparency, accountability, and fairness will be the foundation of my administration. We will renew our attitudes and performance, positioning the service to meet the aspirations of our people,” the new IGP reiterated.
