The Ministry of Interior has imposed a curfew on Binduri Township and its environs in the Upper East Region.
This is part of efforts to maintain peace and security in the area.
The curfew, which starts from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, takes effect from Monday, March 24, 2025, following an Executive Instrument issued by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak.
In a statement signed by the Interior Minister, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the government urged all residents, including chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, and the youth, to exercise restraint and embrace peaceful means in addressing any challenges facing the area.
Meanwhile, a total ban on the possession of arms, ammunition, and offensive weapons remains in force within the affected communities.
The Ministry warned that anyone found in possession of such weapons will be arrested and prosecuted.
