The Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) has called for the inclusion of the cost of election coverage by all media houses in the national budget.
This follows news that the accreditation for coverage of this year’s election was fully absorbed by the Electoral Commission (EC).
President of the GJA, Rolland Affail Monney explained that the move by EC to absorb the cost of accreditation for journalists, demonstrates the Commission’s preparedness to ensure the media play its role in the electoral process.
He made the comments in Accra, at a training workshop for reporters covering the elections.
