He said the organization has made similar donations in hospitals in Accra and commended health personnel for their dedication in the face of the challenges posed by the outbreak.
The Tamale Teaching Hospital is the biggest hospital in Northern Ghana and serves as a referral hospital for the area, parts of the Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Togo.
The facility is on high alert following the outbreak of coronavirus in the country with ten confirmed cases in Tamale.
Of the ten confirmed cases, two, are a couple from Burkina Faso who visited the Tamale Teaching Hospital to access healthcare.
At least 36 staff of the hospital were quarantined after coming into contact with the Burkinabe couple.
Though tests on the quarantined staff have come out negative, staff are on high alert putting Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) on high demand at the facility.
The Acting Public Relations Officer of the TTH, Mohammed Musbawu expressed gratitude to IJM for the donation. He revealed that the donation will be sent to the lab to help technicians there.
