The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu has encouraged the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to launch an investigation into the proliferation of arms in the country.

The Asantehene believes this will help minimize the spate of violent crimes including armed robbery in the country.

The IGP called on him, as tradition demands, to announce the start of his official tour of the region.

This was Dr. George Akuffo Dampare’s first official visit to the Manhyia Palace since assuming office as Inspector-General of Police.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu urged the IGP to work hand in hand with the various personnel within the security apparatus as well as persons who can volunteer information to ensure sustained peace in the country.

He commended the Police Boss for his hard work since he took office as IGP.

The IGP assured the Asantehene that his Administration is poised to work assiduously to protect the people and safeguard the peace in the country.

The IGP was accompanied by some Top Police Officers including COP Nathan Kofi Boakye and COP Ken Yeboah.
