An American-based Ghanaian Non-Governmental Organisation, the Isaac Smith Foundation, has donated food items, toiletries, assorted drinks worth over ¢65,000, and an undisclosed cash amount to support widows and widowers through its annual Widows’ Project.
The donation benefitted 60 selected widows and widowers in the New Juaben North and South and Suhum Municipalities, Fanteakwa North District in the Eastern Region, and Okai Kwei Central Municipality in the Greater Accra Region.
The items include bags of rice, cooking oil, canned fish, tomato paste, sachets of Milo and milk, sanitary items, and assorted drinks, among others.
The Widows’ Project is a yearly project by the foundation to help put smiles on the faces of widows and also offer financial support to them.

In an interview with GBC News, an American-based Ghanaian philanthropist and the leader of the Isaac Smith Foundation, Hannah Amfo noted that when she lost her father over 13 years ago, there were some members of the society in the US who always came to donate items to her mother.
Mrs. Amfo reiterated the good gesture to her mother years ago, motivated her, and when she entered college, decided to establish a foundation to support widows and widowers in Ghana.
Receiving the items, Madam Selina Gyedu, on behalf of the beneficiaries, showed appreciation to Mrs. Amfo and her Foundation for remembering them and coming to their aid.
She also prayed for the mercy of the Lord and protection for Mrs. Amfo and her foundation.
