John Mahama’s May Day Message: Says Ghana has potential to overcome difficulties

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has conveyed a message of solidarity to Ghanaian workers on the occasion of May Day, expressing his readiness to collaborate with them in reshaping the nation’s trajectory.

In his statement issued on May 1, Mr Mahama assured Ghanaian workers of his commitment to working with them to tackle the various challenges facing the country.

Encouraging the workers not to lose hope, Mr Mahama emphasised his belief in Ghana’s potential to overcome its current difficulties.

He stressed the importance of collective effort in lifting the nation out of its present challenges, highlighting the need for unity and collaboration to achieve meaningful progress.

“The forthcoming elections on December 7 offer us a pivotal opportunity to alter our current trajectory and set a new course. During my first tenure as President, I steered the affairs of this nation through similar challenging times.”

“We overcame a significant energy crisis, implemented a universal salary structure, spearheaded transformative infrastructural developments, and built a more resilient economy,” he said.

Mr Mahama also urged workers to embrace his 24-hour policy proposal aimed at reshaping the country to create jobs for the Ghanaian people.

He emphasised the potential of this policy to significantly impact employment opportunities and improve the economic prospects of the nation.

Mr Mahama reiterated his commitment to implementing policies that prioritise job creation and economic growth, emphasising the importance of innovation and forward-thinking strategies in achieving these goals.
