Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital KATH, Dr OhenebaOwusu-Danso, has commended the media for the support they gave the hospital at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He praised the media for being at the forefront of public education on the pandemic and urged them to continue the same way since the country is not yet out of the woods.Dr. Owusu-Danso gave the commendation at a media interaction in Kumasi.
He also advised the media to make use of the hospital’s open-door policy and always cross-check information before publishing it.
Dr.Owusu-Dansosaid the country is experiencing a spike in the spread of the disease and added that it is incumbent on the public, not to become complacent or drop their guard but to continue observing the safety protocols on COVID-19.
The CEO said the facility has recorded more cases within the first two weeks of this month than it did in the last quarter of last year.
He said there are nine people currently on admission at the COVID-19 treatment centre at the hospital.
