The Apostolic Church-Ghana, Kaneshie Central District, has asked corporate entities and other beneficiary organizations to continue to support hospitals as COVID-19 is still living within the communities. Speaking after the church donated some items to the Cocoa Clinic, the Kaneshie Area Superintendent, Apostle Alex Boateng said the church recognizes the risk hospital staff are exposed to in the quest to discharge their duties to the public, hence the gesture. He believes this will go a long way to help the hospitals since the government alone cannot shoulder all the responsibilities.
The gesture is aimed at giving back to society, the Apostolic Church-Ghana, Kaneshie Central District donated items worth thousands of Ghana Cedis to Cocoa Clinic hospital to help in the discharge of its duties. The items included toiletries, disinfectants, bed sheets and hand washing equipment. Presenting the items on behalf of the church, Kaneshie Area Superintendent, Apostle Alex Boateng said the gesture is a sign of love and great service to the nation.
“Cocoa Clinic has been a good neighbour to the church since the church is closer to the hospital. The clinic has been of great help not only to the church but to the country at large and helping them is similar to helping the whole country.
We have had occasions where some of our members have been sick during church service and meetings, and we have brought them here and they have taken care of them very well, and so out of love we decided to donate these things to them”, Apostle Boateng said.
Receiving the items on behalf of management of the hospital, Deputy Director of Cocoa Clinic Dr. Eric Fordjour expressed gratitude to the church for their kind gesture.
” We thank the Apostolic-Church Ghana for this gesture, despite the COVID, the hardship they’ve made time and money to buy these things to donate to Cocoa Clinic, we are grateful and we pray that whatever they’ve done for the clinic, God will bless them and replenish their stock. We also promise that the items presented to us will be put to good use.” Dr. Fordjour.
The Kaneshie Central District Pastor of the Apostolic Church-Ghana, Pastor J. K Clottey, said the church believes the Lord has done a lot for them, adding that this was done to express love for others as Jesus Christ portrayed.
The Church used the occasion to pray for the hospital and the nation as a whole.
