The youth had a share in the funfair celebratory of Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. There was a big concert, and fireworks at three locations in Kumasi which the King took time off his busy schedule to attend.
A septuagenarian and still going strong. Many are those overwhelmed by his interest in the little things, and not only the big ones. His time is usually stretched out, there is wonderment whether the King has enough of it to spare for leisure.
Yet, he does not wilt under the pressures of responsibility. Age appears to have no place in the scheme of things, and hardly puts the breaks on him. That is why after sitting for long hours at Wukudae Durbar, he could still find time to attend sequel events in the night that followed the day.
Screaming fireworks thrown into night skies from Manhyia Palace and the Jubilee Park in Kumasi caught the attention of everybody in the catchment of activities, particularly the youth.
That was an example of how the planning committee of the Silver Jubilee of Asantehene targeted segments of the population.
The King, accompanied by a large army of friends and well-wishers and mingling with the youth, spent time on his feet to view a concert by rappers.
Engaging, and exhilarating night. Patronizers had kind words for Asantehene. Not a single voice was in discord. The youth consider Asantehene a deity, with total allegiance to him.
The lineup of activities to commemorate the King’s ascension continues to confound people, and these keep them guessing as to what is next. Indulgence in the lottery of wild guesses, their predictions have hit off target. The suspense keeps the fun ongoing but impossible to endure without the charm of the King.
