Traditional authorities and residents of Kwahu-Ntomem in the Kwahu South Municipality of the Eastern Region have expressed gratitude to the government and authorities for hearing their cry through media reports on the deplorable nature of their road.
Speaking to the media, the Queen Mother of Kwahu-Ntomem, Nana Opokua, said they are very happy their road is under construction and pleaded with government not to make it a way of gaining electoral power and leave the project to rot as it used to happen.
Nana Opokua further observed that there have been some electricity poles at Ntomem which have been abandoned for so many years without being connected to electrical power for the residents.
Hence, she pleaded with the Member of Parliament for Kwahu South Constituency, Davis Ansah Opoku, to ensure that the electricity poles brought by his outfit for an electrification at Ntomem should be connected as early as possible.
The Assembly Member for the Electoral Area, Jacob Kumi Dwamena, said they are happy their road is under construction, adding that they want the electrification project to continue as well, as the completion of both projects will help develop the community.
Some of the traders speaking to the media were excited about the commencement of the road construction since it has been their major challenge in transacting business at Kwahu-Ntomem.
According to them, the construction as it has commenced will help them in numerous ways. They also appealed to the government to fast-track the electrification project to make sure it is completed on time.
