Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor has constituted a five Member Committee to take inventory of all seized Excavators and all related issues to galamsey.
The Committee chaired is by Ben Aryee, Advisor on Mines to the Minister.
It will submit its report in one-week.
The Committee is also expected to oversee the handing over of the responsibility of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on illegal mining (IMCIM).
Interacting with staff of the Ministry after his swearing in by the President, Mr Jinapor asked staff of the Ministry to exhibit loyalty, transparency and teamwork at all levels to help solve the many challenges confronting the Sector.
He said this will ensure that government’s Agenda and the Mandate of the Ministry is efficiently achieved.
He assured the staff that “In him they will find a Minister who is very supportive”. He further said , he will try his very best to ensure that staff enjoy their work at all time.
