The first female National Director of World Vision Ghana (WVG), Madam Laura Cristina Del Valle, has brought her invaluable expertise as the National Director of WVG to an end.

Madam Cristina Del Valle’s journey with World Vision has taken her through diverse roles, including Operations Director at World Vision El Salvador, Program Quality Specialist at the World Vision Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Office, and Research and Development Associate at the Global Centre, World Vision International.

Madam Laura Cristina Del Valle is the first female to hold the position of a national director in the history of WVG and served from June 2023 to November 2024, leaving an indelible mark on the organisation and the communities it serves.

With about three decades of experience, spanning roles within and outside World Vision, Laura exemplified passion, compassion, and relentless commitment to humanitarian work.

Under her leadership at WVG, the organisation championed numerous initiatives that significantly strengthened the organisation’s visibility, partnerships, and credibility.

Some of these key initiatives include a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EIB Network, collaboration with Goldfields Foundation, and a strategic alliance with Vivo Energy.

World Vision Ghana, under her exceptional leadership, also played a prominent role as a sponsor of the 13th All-African Games in Accra, demonstrating her commitment to broadening the organisation’s reach and influence.

Madam Laura Cristina Del Valle’s efforts were recognised with multiple accolades, including the CIMG Non-for-Profit Organisation of the Year 2023, CSR SDGs Partnership of the Year, and CSR NGO of the Year awards.

These achievements enhanced World Vision Ghana’s trustworthiness and strengthened relationships with donors and partners.

In a statement issued in Accra announcing her departure from the organisation, WVG described her leadership style as one that focuses on staff well-being and fosters a supportive work environment, ensuring that her team thrives.

“Her legacy is one of transformative impact, unwavering service, and the empowerment of communities, especially children and women.

A passionate advocate for children’s rights and well-being, Laura Cristina Del Valle has always envisioned a world where every child is free from violence, fear, and neglect.

Her unwavering commitment is rooted in a belief that children deserve to grow up in safe, nurturing environments that reflect the tender love and compassion of Jesus.

For Laura, children are not merely passive recipients of aid but active participants in their own growth and transformation.

She worked tirelessly to ensure that children had a voice in shaping their futures, fostering spaces where they could thrive, learn, and develop their potential. Whether through community-led initiatives, advocacy campaigns, or strategic partnerships, Laura consistently championed child-focused programs that empowered young lives and strengthened families.

Her dedication to building a brighter, violence-free future for every child remains a cornerstone of her legacy and a lasting inspiration for all who have worked alongside her.

As Laura embarks on her next journey, World Vision Ghana expresses its heartfelt gratitude for her service.

Thank you, Laura, for your transformative leadership, for touching countless lives, and for making a difference every day. Your legacy will continue to guide and inspire our mission for years to come,” portions of the statement read.

Jean-Claude Mukadi, who is currently the Senior Director of Operations for World Vision West Africa Region, succeeds Laura as interim National Director for World Vision Ghana.
