The Liberty Centre Assemblies of God Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Sam Ato Bentil is poised as it marks its 50th Anniversary. In view of this, the Church has initiated several activities ahead of the grand celebration which is under the theme; “Declaring God’s goodness”.
The Church organized a Cultural Month where there was education on the need to combine religion with certain cultural activities. In addition, there was a Medical Outreach Program which was organized annually to provide free health screening to members of the Church.
The 50th Anniversary Celebration marks the success of the numerous projects undertaken by the church that have had great impact on society.
According to the Vice President of the Men’s Ministry, Kingsley Hayford, the church can boast of Scholarship Schemes that have catered for the education of some members since its inception. During the Covid-19 pandemic, members of the church enjoyed some benefits from a covid fund put together by the Church. In addition to these programmes, widows are supported in all aspects of their lives.
Associate Pastor, Rev. Kumi Manu described the grand celebration as a “Homecoming” for members who are abroad and those that have left due to marriage and all other members to a church that has been a foundation for their lives.
The Liberty Centre Assemblies of God was established 50 years ago by Ms. Rosina Quayefio. It began with Morning Devotion with children within the community and gradually the membership began to grow. Today, the Church can boast of a membership of over 2000 people. Liberty City Assemblies of God can be located at Lapaz, Off the George Bush Motorway (N1) opposite GT Bank.
