President John Mahama has directed the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Emelia Arthur, to collaborate with the Finance Minister to secure funding for the completion of the Anomabo Fisheries College in the Central Region.
The college project, initiated in 2011 by the previous NDC government, remains unfinished.
During his “Thank You” tour of the Central Region on February 6, President Mahama stressed the importance of finishing the project.
“This is why we promised to continue all abandoned projects, whether started by the NPP or the NDC.”
He noted that minimal work remains, including furniture, teaching materials, and campus roadwork. The facility is designed to accommodate 300 students and promote sustainable fishing and aquaculture education.
The President has therefore instructed the Fisheries Minister to take immediate action and collaborate with the Finance Minister to allocate the necessary funds to complete the project.
