Mahama appoints new heads for Fire Service, Immigration and Prisons

Heads of the Ghana Prisons Service (GPS), the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), and the Ghana Fire Service (GFS), who were appointed by former President Akufo-Addo, have been replaced by the new administration.

President John Dramani Mahama, on Friday, March 14, 2025, announced the replacements through an official statement from the Presidency.

The newly appointed Security Service Chiefs are:

  • Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service – DDGP Patience Baffoe-Bonnie
  • Chief Fire Officer – DCFO Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong
  • Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service – DCI Samuel Basentale Amadu

The announcement was made by the Minister of Government Communications, Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
